The Management of the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) engaged the university lecturers on a 3-day mandatory training session on Core Curriculum Minimum Academic Standards (CCMAS) training from Tuesday, 12th to Thursday 14th , September 2023 at the College of Agriculture Main (500-Seater) Auditorium.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Olumuyiwa Odusanya in his remark, stressed the importance of CCMAS and its strict compliance, adding that the training would aid the accreditation of the University. He implored all the Academic Staff members to take the training serious and leverage on its teachings.
The Guest Lecturer, Prof. Ganiyu Oboh, a former Director of Research & Development from the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), gave a crosstalk titled “Grantmanship, Research Publication, and Intellectual Properties.” He highlighted the importance attached to choice of topics, the criteria for good research questions and also tips on how to write a good proposal.
He further explained that a research project should be precise and clear. He also discussed factors to consider before submitting an article. Taking a cue from his experience, he revealed that there are grant bodies that fund research projects and encouraged staff members to apply to them. Prof. Oboh advised researchers on the Do’s and Don’ts in writing for grants and what the experts do when they receive proposals.
