HOD Agricultural Engineering Department
“To develop and deploy unique and novel curricula in agricultural and bio-resources engineering thereby producing highly-skilled human resources who can provide innovative and environment-friendly solutions for sustainable development in the agricultural, food, fibre and bio-fuel subsectors”.
“To be a centre of excellence in research, innovation and the provision of scientific and technological education for the sustainable development and transformation of the agricultural and bio-resources sectors of the state and national economy”.
You are welcome to the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (ABE). Your training here will help you to develop the skills required to solve problems concerning the supply of power, the efficiency of machines, development of structures and the preservation of the environment during the production of food, feed, fibre and biofuels. It is our aims, here, to present the goals and objective as well as the rules, regulations and policies guiding students while on the programmes offered by the department. It is important therefore that students read and study them, and most importantly, put then into practice. If changes are ever necessary in the course of your enrolment in the programme, it will be in the best interest of students and staff. We urge you to take advantage of all the resources – humans and materials, that the department offers.
